FAQ
Nucleus HQ frequently asked questions
The first agent-native CRM, answered plainly. Every question below is about what Nucleus HQ actually does today.
The category
What is an agent-native CRM?
+
An agent-native CRM is a CRM where every feature is exposed as a tool an AI agent can call directly, not just a dashboard with an AI feature bolted on. In Nucleus HQ, both humans and agents use the same scoped tools over REST and MCP. That means an AI agent can operate the whole system, from contacts and pipelines to conversations and automations, the same way a person would through the dashboard.
What makes Nucleus HQ different from a normal CRM with an AI feature?
+
A normal CRM adds AI as one feature inside a human-first product. Nucleus HQ is built the other way around: every feature is a tool an AI agent can call over REST and MCP, so an agent can run the entire CRM, not just a single AI helper. Humans use the dashboard and agents use the same scoped tools, with nothing that is agent-only or human-only.
Is Nucleus HQ really the first agent-native CRM?
+
Yes. Nucleus HQ is the first agent-native CRM: a full CRM where every feature is a tool an AI agent can call over REST and MCP. It was built from the ground up to be operated by AI, and built to be resold under your own brand.
What does "every feature is a tool" mean?
+
It means each capability in Nucleus HQ, from contacts and pipelines to conversations and automations, is exposed as a callable tool over REST v1 and a per-tenant MCP server. Humans reach these tools through the dashboard and agents reach the same tools through the same scopes. There is no separate, limited API sitting beside the product; the tools are the product.
Operating Nucleus HQ with agents
Can I run a CRM with Claude or Claude Code?
+
Yes. Claude and Claude Code are named, approved examples of agents that can operate Nucleus HQ. You give the agent one scoped API key and it can drive the whole system over REST and MCP, using the same tools a human uses in the dashboard.
Does it work with Codex?
+
Yes. Codex is a named, approved example of an agent that can operate Nucleus HQ. With one scoped API key, Codex can call the same REST and MCP tools that power the human dashboard.
Can ChatGPT operate it?
+
Nucleus HQ can be operated by any MCP or REST client, so a ChatGPT-based agent that can call MCP or REST tools can drive it. The mechanism is the same for every agent: one scoped API key and the agent is operating the whole system. Named, approved examples include Claude and Claude Code, Codex, OpenClaw, LangChain, or your own agent.
Does it work with LangChain or my own agent?
+
Yes. LangChain and your own custom agent are named, approved examples of clients that can operate Nucleus HQ. Any agent that can call REST or MCP tools works, because humans and agents call the same scoped tools with the same scopes.
Does it work with OpenClaw?
+
Yes. OpenClaw is a named, approved example of an agent that can operate Nucleus HQ. It connects with one scoped API key and calls the same REST and MCP tools available in the dashboard.
How does the agent connect and authenticate?
+
An agent connects with one scoped, revocable API key and then drives the whole system over REST v1 or the per-tenant MCP server. The key defines what the agent is allowed to do, using the same scopes a human would have. You can revoke the key at any time.
What can the agent actually do?
+
An agent can use the same tools a human uses: contacts, pipelines, custom fields, tags, tasks, conversations, broadcasts, sequences, automations, calendars, booking pages, websites, funnel pages, media, commerce, and reporting. Nothing is agent-only or human-only, so an agent can operate the full CRM. Higher tiers add tools such as the AI auto-responder and lead scoring.
Do humans still get a normal CRM dashboard?
+
Yes. The dashboard is a full CRM that people use directly. Humans and agents call the same tools with the same scopes, so nothing is hidden behind an agent-only interface; the agent simply uses the same system through REST and MCP.
Features
What CRM features are included?
+
Nucleus HQ includes contacts, pipelines, custom fields, tags, tasks, conversations, broadcasts, sequences, automations, calendars, booking pages, websites, funnel pages, media, commerce, reporting, notifications, support intake, two-factor authentication, audit logs, and data export. All of these ship on the entry Light tier. Every one of them is available to both humans and agents through the same scoped tools.
What does Pro add over Light?
+
The Pro tier adds an AI auto-responder, lead scoring, deliverability reporting, and 10 client workspaces. It builds on everything already included in the Light tier. AI Assist features are Pro-tier-and-above, bring-your-own-key, and off by default.
Can Nucleus HQ host my websites and funnel pages?
+
Yes. Websites and funnel pages are built-in features of Nucleus HQ, available from the Light tier. Like every other feature, they are exposed as tools that both humans and agents can use over REST and MCP.
Can my agents reach contacts over SMS and WhatsApp?
+
Yes. Nucleus HQ supports email, SMS, and WhatsApp. SMS runs on your own Twilio account and WhatsApp runs on your own Meta WhatsApp account. Conversations run on the same tools the agent already calls, so an agent can message contacts the same way it uses the rest of the CRM.
AI cost
Does Nucleus HQ charge for AI usage?
+
No. There is no Nucleus HQ per-message AI tax. Nucleus HQ never provides, funds, or resells inference; you bring your own model key and pay your AI provider directly.
Do I bring my own model key?
+
Yes. Nucleus HQ uses a bring-your-own-key model: you supply your own AI provider key and pay that provider directly. AI Assist is available on the Pro tier and above, uses your key, and is off by default.
Security and data
How do you keep an account secure?
+
Nucleus HQ protects accounts with two-factor authentication and keeps an audit log of every API call and sign-in. API keys are scoped and revocable, so you control exactly what any agent or integration can do and can cut off access at any time.
Where does my data live?
+
Every workspace runs on its own physically isolated database, so your data is not pooled into a shared table with other customers' data. Nucleus HQ's subprocessors are Cloudflare, Resend, Stripe, and Contabo.
Can I export my data?
+
Yes. You can export your data through the API at any time. Because every feature is exposed as a tool, both humans and agents can pull your data out whenever you need it.
Pricing and trial
How much does Nucleus HQ cost?
+
Nucleus HQ has three tiers priced in US dollars: Light at $49/mo, Pro at $149/mo, and Enterprise at $449/mo. Light includes 3 client workspaces, Pro includes 10, and Enterprise includes unlimited client workspaces. Paying annually gives you two months free, and you can cancel at any time.
Is there a free trial?
+
Yes. Nucleus HQ offers a 14-day free trial on the Light and Pro tiers, with a card required up front. The Enterprise tier is set up with a human rather than through the self-serve trial.
Can I cancel anytime?
+
Yes. Every Nucleus HQ plan can be cancelled at any time. Choosing annual billing gives you two months free compared with paying monthly.
White-label and reselling
Can I sell Nucleus HQ under my own brand?
+
Yes. Nucleus HQ is built to be resold under your own brand. The Enterprise tier provides full white-label control: your own product name, logo, and accent colour, plus unlimited client workspaces and your own pricing.
How many client workspaces do I get?
+
The number of client workspaces depends on your tier: Light includes 3, Pro includes 10, and Enterprise includes unlimited client workspaces. Each workspace runs on its own physically isolated database.
